Quality Forges Reputation; Brand Gains Confidence——Mengniu Gains 2 Honors for 2008 Most Favorite Brand of Chinese Consumers
  On June 13, the selection activity of 2008 Most Favorite Brand of Chinese Consumers, sponsored by China (Overseas) Enterprises’ Reputation Association, was grandly opened at HK International Exhibition Center. Famous brands from both inside and outside China including China Mobile, China Life Insurance and Pepsi etc. gained the honor of Most Favorite Enterprises with Good Credibility. Mengniu Group, who has developed in the speed of Rocket within the past 9 years and amounted to No. 1 of the dairy industry in China in 2007, has also gained overall respect from the consumers at mainland China, HK and Macau and entered the list of credit entrepreneurial brand successfully. Meanwhile, the Group has also gained another honor of the series named Consumers Most Favorite HK Brands 2008 and thus became the only dairy brand winning 2 awards together.      

The activity was firstly launched in 2004 and mainly sponsored by China (Overseas) Enterprises’ Reputation Association, HK China Tourism Association and HK Computers’ Chamber of Commerce. In the past 3 years, the activity has gradually enlarged its scale, gained the encouragement and support of the related departments in HK and promoted effectively the cultural communication and tourism service between HK and the mainland China. Among the honors, the award of Most Favorite Enterprise with Good Credibility was the latest one set by the activity. The original purpose of this honor is to increase the weight of Creditability into the selection as Chinese enterprises have focused more on the brand development on the way to globalization.  

During the past one year, with the ever globalization of the quality of products, Mengniu Group has won recognition from more and more business partners and consumers all around the world with her excellent performance of development. Top international brands such as KFC, NBA, Disneyland and Starbucks have chosen Mengniu milk as their designated product one after another. The private dairy industry in China has gained respect and praise for Made in China in the international food market under the toughest competition. Boao Forum for Asia has also selected Mengniu Milk Deluxe as its designated beverage for consecutively 2 years, which has, from other side, upgraded the recognition of Mengniu Group in Asian Pacific area and even in the world. According to the Annual Report 2007 announced by the Group in April, Mengniu Group has become the 1st dairy enterprise in China with the annual turnover exceeding RMB 20 billion. She has stably kept the 1st chair of the market share of the dairy industry in China, taken the 1st place in the liquid milk market for consecutively 4 years and has led the market of ice cream and yogurt. Meanwhile, the Group has covered over 50% of the local liquid milk share market for continuously several years in HK and Macau.      

In addition, Mengniu Group has also devoted herself heart and soul to the social commonweal cause and taken an active part in fulfilling her social responsibility. In 2007, standing on the height to protect the industry, the Group has raised the price for raw milk for several times to protect the interest of the dairy farmers and give powerful support to Chinese dairy industry against the difficulty caused by the price rising of raw materials suffered by the global market. This year, the daily milk collection by Mengniu Group has exceeded 10,000 tons, which has been listed No. 1 in Asia and has benefited over 3 million dairy farmers. Besides all these, Mengniu has accumulatively invested over RMB 200 million ever since she launched China Milk Love Action in 2006, through which milk become available for pupils from more than 1,000 poor primary schools. At the moment of the Southern China stricken heavily by the snowstorm and Wenchuan quake, Mengniu has played an active role in money and material donation and offered her helping hand to the disaster area.

People from the origination committee told the reporters, “Such Chinese enterprises as China Mobile, China Life Insurance and Mengniu Dairy Group will gained more respect and concerns from the society. They have not only contributed themselves to build on a commercial society of credibility, responsibility and good virtue, but also set up outstanding social images for the other excellent enterprises in good sense of social responsibility to gain more respect. ”

  A manager from the overseas department of Mengniu Group indicated that the Group had upgraded the technical content of products and increased the share of high-end products in the overall product system, which had helped her gain the favor from more and more consumers. In the future, the Group would continue her step of technical innovation, stick on her idea to become a great enterprise and improve the image of creditable brand in the eyes of consumers to provide more and better service for products.
