When the quality of milk supply becomes a sense of responsibility, all measures taken should be steady and down-to-earth. Recently, the first batch of 3400 cows from New Zealand arrived at Mengniu’s farm located at Wuqiang County, Hengshui City of Hebei Province, which added bricks and tiles to the construction of Mengniu’s milk supply. It was informed that Mengniu’s Hengshui Farm inaugurated In April of 2011 and built a counterpart manufactory with processing capacity of 600 tons premium farm and 360 tons of normal milk. The farm incorporates 3 standard farm with each holding capacity exceeding 10,000 herds.

In fact, this is only an interlude in the process of Mengniu’s milk supply construction. A few years ago, Mengniu started the overall arrangement of milk supply. Mengniu spent RMB 400 million Yuan in 2010 to invest dairy farm and build liquid milk manufactory in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region. In the first half of 2011, Mengniu’s newly built manufactory in Qingyuan of Guangdong Province and Hengshui of Hebei Province had been put to use.

The journalist was informed that Mengniu’s Austrasia International Dairy Farm had fine cows from 4 continents and introduced good quality forage grass from 12 countries and employed professional managers from 7 countries. Meanwhile, Mengniu’s Austasia International Dairy Farm had the most advanced milking robot which was the first ever milk machine introduced in China.

Regarding the focus on milk supply, Mengniu has more actions on details. From cross-breeding to nutritional grass feeding, from founding analysis team of raw milk to the implementation of bar code technology, each measure taken by Mengniu demonstrates the determination for reinforcing the foundation of milk supply.

Of course, efforts will yield return. The data shows that the average milk fat and protein content of China Holstein are 3.5% and 2.9%-3.1% respectively; however, through breeding improving technology, the milk fat and protein could reach to 3.7% and 3.3% respectively. In the first half of 2011, the average protein content reached 3.13% which was much higher than the state standard which was 2.8%.

The responsible person of Mengniu said that if you want to produce more good quality products, then you must spend a lot on milk supply. In the future, Mengniu will still place strengthening on modern and scaled raw milk to the top position so as to offer more fine quality dairy products to consumers.
